Position Summary
Join our collaborative accounting team and play a key role in the financial success of a diverse property portfolio. Reporting to the Associate Controller of Property Management, this position is responsible for full-cycle property accounting, including financial reporting, reconciliations, compliance, budgeting support, and performance analysis.
✅Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain property accounting records in compliance with GAAP
- Prepare journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and financial reports for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting
- Analyze budget variances, financial statements, and key performance metrics
- Complete required HUD, MHFA, lender, and regulatory reporting
- Support annual budgeting, audits, and audit workpaper preparation
- Assist with accounting policies, internal controls, and operational procedures, including fixed assets, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and depreciation
- Research and resolve accounting and financial inquiries
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency
- Provide support to the Accounting Manager and Corporate Controller and perform other duties as assigned
✅Minimum Qualifications/Requirements
- Understanding of financial statements, general ledgers, trial balances, accounting theory, and accounting software systems
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Experience working with YARDI or other similar property accounting software
✅Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- 2-5 years financial accounting experience
- Or a combination of education and experience
