The Family Resource Specialist will provide on-going case management support to at least 70-80 families identified by Hennepin County Minnesota Family Investment Program (MFIP) as in need of Family Stabilization Services (FSS). In this role, the Family Resource Specialist will assist participants in developing and achieving goals for family and self-sufficiency.
Additional responsibilities include:
Establish and maintain long-term relationships with participants through proactive and reliable service
Utilize motivational interviewing and other coaching techniques that emphasize participant strengths and reinforce change behaviors
Assist participants in developing goal plans for family stability and self-sufficiency. Perform comprehensive surveys with participants to assess family strengths and needs
Assist participants in accessing a wide array of services and resources, including affordable housing, legal and financial assistance, health service (physical, mental, chemical), child enrichment programs and family support services
Coordinate placement into supported work positions and training programs; provide retention services to participants placed into permanent employment
Maintain accurate and precise case notes and file documentation, in both paper files and online databases. Monitor participant progress through monthly contact and data tracking systems
Self-starter with high level of attention to detail and follow-through
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Ability to adhere to HIPAA, ADA, and data privacy requirements
Ability to access and navigate online databases; Workforce One, MAXIS, and MEC2 experience preferred
Must have a valid driver’s license, a good driving record as determined by our insurance carrier, proof of insurance and access to reliable transportation.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Services-related field (related experience may substitute for degree)
Minimum two years’ experience working with low-income families of diverse backgrounds and cultures

Salary: $19.23/hr., DOQ
