Job Summary
The Associate Vice President (AVP) of Advancement is a key leadership role responsible for driving strategic fundraising initiatives, donor engagement, and communications efforts to support PPL’s mission of empowering individuals and families to achieve self-reliance. The AVP will lead a team of professionals to expand philanthropic support, enhance community partnerships, and elevate the organization’s visibility and impact.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising Strategy & Execution
- Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies, including major gifts, annual giving, planned giving, and corporate/foundation support.
- Cultivate and steward relationships with high-level donors and prospects.
- Build and scale structured major and planned giving programs.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Oversee the Major Gifts Officer, Donor Engagement Manager, Donor, Grants & Events Specialist, Advancement Data & Engagement Manager, and Volunteer Program Manager.
- Collaborate with program staff and leadership to align fundraising goals with organizational priorities.
Communications & Brand Management
- Oversee strategic communications, marketing, and public relations efforts.
- Collaborate with Communications to align messaging tied to institutional partners.
- Create segmented strategies that blend grants, engagement, and employee giving.
Data & Reporting
- Utilize CRM systems to track donor engagement and campaign performance.
- Provide regular reports and insights to leadership and the board.
Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in nonprofit fundraising or advancement.
- Proven track record of securing major gifts and leading successful campaigns.
- Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Familiarity with donor databases (e.g., CRM system) is a plus.
- Passion for PPL’s mission and commitment to equity and community development.

Hours: Full time, Exempt
Salary: $125,000-$150,000 / annually DOQ
