Position Summary
The Property Accounting Manager is the senior financial accountant within the organization responsible for overseeing the financial operations, coordination of annual property audit process, property accounting system workflow and manage centralized accounts payable function. This individual reports directly to the Corporate Controller.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate annual audits and tax filings for annual property audits. Responsible for all supporting documents
- Responsible for financial reporting hierarchy, general ledger chart of accounts and legal entity structure
- In partnership with the Corporate Controller, oversee and direct Accounts Payable activities to ensure timely and accurate processing and payment of invoices
- In partnership with the Corporate Controller, oversee annual 1099 reporting
- Assist in the review of GAAP accounting requirements
- Assist in the establishment of accounting policies and SOPs
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Manages 3-4 Property Accounting staff
Qualifications
- Highly competent in compilation of financial data for consolidation accounting across multiple legal entities and business divisions.
- Strong working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Ability to effectively manage the Accounts Payable function
- Experienced audit manager and knowledgeable of preparation of audit process and preparation of annual Financial Statements
- Ability to plan, delegate, and supervise personnel
Education/Experience
- 10 years or more experience in property accounting, annual Financial Statement preparation and audit procedures.
- BS in Accounting
- CPA desired
- Previous or current public accounting firm experience a plus
- Experience working with Accounts Payable software, general ledger systems and supporting consolidation systems
- Proficient in Micro Soft Office tools including Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook. Experience with YARDI desired.

Hours: Full time, Exempt
Salary: $110,000-$120,000 / annually DOQ
