Job Summary

PPL has a full-time opportunity for an outstanding Program Supervisor to join its Single Adults Supportive Housing Program.

Responsibilities for this position include staff supervision, team leadership, and the provision of some case management services. The Program Supervisor will lead a team of Case Managers focusing on helping Housing Support (GRH) participants find and keep housing through the supervision and provision of housing tenancy supports and case management. This position will use a Person-Centered, Harm Reduction, and Housing First approach to partner with participants from diverse communities who have experienced homelessness and behavioral health challenges. The Program Supervisor will collaborate with Housing Transition services staff to support screening and intakes, housing search and placement, rehousing, and landlord relationships and build relationships with private landlords and PPL property managers in Hennepin and Ramsey counties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:   

Supervision

  • Hire, train, supervise, and support Supportive Housing Case Managers to maintain quality and consistency within the Program, encourage staff growth and development.
  • Promote an inclusive, diverse, culturally competent, and respectful work environment.
  • Work in collaboration with staff on participant situations.  Review and consult regularly regarding service provision for participants—model person-centered responses.   Provide support and backup to staff as needed.
  • Respond to after-hours emergencies or incidents as needed.   

Program Management  

  • Participate in internal and external professional development, team meetings, case consultation, special initiatives, PPL and Resident Services committees, and organization-wide meetings.
  • Support collaboration with property managers, private landlords, and other partnerships.
  • Assist with budgeting, fundraising, financial, and strategic planning needs of the Program. Assist Program to pilot new technologies to enhance service delivery.   

Direct Service

  • Engage with participants to assess their strengths/barriers and create customized participant-driven housing stability plans. Update and modify to reflect current goals, needs, and housing retention barriers.
  • Keep accurate, up-to-date documentation including but not limited to goal plans, case notes, incident reports, funder data, receipts, etc.
  • Support participants through the housing application process and provide transition services as they prepare to move in and set up a home. Support screening and intakes, housing search, and placement rehousing, and landlord relationships to help single adults find and keep housing in Hennepin and Ramsey Counties.
  • Connect households to security deposits, furnishings, basic needs, and emergency resources.
  • Assist with the housing recertification process.
  • Work with the team and participants to plan and facilitate community-building activities, resident meetings, and engagement with the larger community. Help residents build social support with family, peers, neighbors, etc.
  • Provide and facilitate translation and interpreting services.
  • Communicate and coordinate services with all team members and other needed internal and external stakeholders. 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Supervise 3 case managers. May supervise interns. 

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Social Work, or related field.  Associates Degree and significant experience with the target population may be considered as a substitute for some education. 
  • 3 –4 years experience in providing services to individuals or families with behavioral health challenges and in a supportive housing environment.
  • Experience in supervising and leading others.
  • Self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience providing supervision and talent management.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, a good driving record, proof of insurance, and a reliable vehicle.
  • Experience with Motivational Interviewing, Person-Centered, or DBT skills a bonus.

Salary: $46,000.00-$52,000.00/Yr., DOQ

Temporary remote work available during COVID-19, but you may need to go on-site from time to time. Safety measures are in place at all PPL sites.
